COLCIAGO SHINES IN SWEDISH SUPER TOURING
Euro STC race winner Roberto Colciago will be a factor in the final rush to the Swedish Super Touring crown. The Italian has been invited by KMS Audi team to race in the two STCC's final meetings, in order to help 1998 champion Fredrik Ekblom to secure his second Swedish title. Colciago's STCC debut, last week at Karlskoga, was impressive; at the wheel of a KMS Audi A4 Quattro, he set 4th and 3rd times in the qualifying sessions for the two races. In race-one he was involved in a collision and received a stop-and-go penalty, but in race-two he did the required job in a perfect way, coming home 2nd to Ekblom and keeping behind the other title contenders. He also set the race's fastest lap. Colciago will race again this weekend at Mantorp Park in the STCC's finale. The actual point standings are: 1st Fredrik Ekblom (Audi A4) 164 pts; 2nd Tommy Rustad (Nissan Primera) 153; 3rd Mattias Ekstrom (Volvo S40) 132.
