DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. (Feb. 3, 2000) Cadillac and the Corvette, two vehicles prominent in this season s on-track competition, will serve as the Official Vehicles of the Grand American Road Racing Association, it was announced today by General Motors and Grand-Am officials.

As part of the agreement, the Corvette will serve as the official course vehicle for all on-track inspections at Grand-Am events. Both vehicles will also be driven by Grand-Am's executive staff based at Grand-Am's corporate headquarters in Daytona Beach.

"The Grand American Road Racing series provides General Motors with an excellent venue to showcase two of its premier brands, Corvette and Cadillac," said Gary Claudio, Group Marketing Manager, GM Racing. "We are very excited about this partnership."

"These marquee brands from General Motors are a perfect fit for our racing organization," said Roger Edmondson, Grand American Road Racing Association President. "Our goal is to be the premier road racing series in North America and the association with such high-quality and prestigious products demonstrates a significant step in achieving that objective."

The Official Vehicles program complements GM's on-track participation in the Grand-Am series. Cadillac Northstar LMPs are running in the top-of-the-line SportRacer class while GM Goodwrench Corvettes are top contenders in the GTO division.
