Monterrey, N.L., Mexico, September 29, 2001.- The Tecate-Telmex Monterrey Grand Prix informs that CIE, (Interamerican Entertainment Company), has been assigned as the Monterrey, Mexico FedEx CART event's exclusive organizer for the next 4 years.

According to the announced agreement, CIE will take care of the sponsorship marketing, ticket sales, food and beverage and the logistic, operation and production aspects of the race starting in 2002, until 2005.

The new permanent circuit built in Monterrey's Fundidora Park, hosted the Tecate Telmex Monterrey Grand Prix last March 11th, the first CART event to be held in Mexico. More than 300 thousand spectators attended through the week-end.

"This has been the greatest crowd in the CART Series' history", said Mike Zizzo, CART's PR vice-president.

CIE, the leader live entertainment company in all of Spanish and Portuguese speaking Latin America, has demonstrated throughout it's 10 year experience that it can manage the planning and organizing of the biggest and most important events, through the effectiveness of it's unique vertical structure which allows it to encompass every one of the recreational end entertainment business' aspects.

Taking into account that auto racing is the world's third most important sport, after soccer football and the Olympic Games, the Tecate-Telmex Monterrey Grand Prix will no doubt reach more than 58 million TV viewers throughout 200 countries, besides the 300 thousand plus fortunate spectators.

This strategic Tecate-Telmex Monterrey Grand Prix-CIE alliance, will create a good event organization in order to offer a great spectacle of international standards and to bring benefits to the spectator, the Mexican motor-sport development, the event's sponsors and the community.

The economic spillage generated by such an event, will be given once more in 2002, pushing some important commercial activities with a positive impulse in the city of Monterrey and it's metro area.

Arturo Mendez Aviles has been designated by the Tecate-Telmex Monterrey Grand Prix' Board of Directors, as the new CEO in charge of the 2002 to 2005 events' organization.
