Adrian Reynard, Chairman and Founder of Reynard Motorsport, is busy preparing for the 2002 season at the helm of the company, following the departure of Rick Gorne, who had recently rejoined the company as Chief Executive. Gorne had returned with the aim of re-capitalising the company to underpin future growth and realise expansion opportunities, in addition to releasing the dependency on existing shareholders. However recent world events have changed the financial climate and it was decided not to move ahead with the plans.

Adrian Reynard explains, "It is disappointing that Rick and I haven't been able to accomplish our goals at this time. It's been great working with Rick again over the last few months and he remains my close confidante. My priority now is to ensure that Reynard Motorsport has a strong, healthy future and I, along with the Directors of the company, are presently reviewing the operations and administrations to ensure that we are best placed to meet the ever increasing demands for competitiveness."

He adds, "Reynard Motorsport has been at the forefront of the industry for over 28 years and has evolved to become a leading supplier of race cars, including Champ Cars for the American based CART Series. We are committed to maintaining our Championship winning form in every category in which we compete. We are greatly encouraged by the initial testing of our Reynard 02I Champ Car and the arrival of our new Technical Director, Nick Wirth, and are confident that 2002 will bring us further success."
