RALEIGH, NC (Jan. 21, 2002) -- CARQUEST Auto Parts has agreed to continue as the "Official Auto Parts Store" of IHRA Motorsports in 2002.

"We are pleased to extend our partnership with IHRA for 2002 as the official auto parts store," said Scott Ginsburg, CARQUEST Director of Advertising. "IHRA continues to grow its entertainment product with increasing spectator attendance and improvements in their facilities and our involvement allows us to reach our key customers, the professional automotive technician as well as the do-it-yourselfer."

As the official auto parts store of IHRA, CARQUEST promotes IHRA Motorsports through its national media advertising and receives signage at all IHRA national events. CARQUEST supports IHRA Motorsports by sponsoring four IHRA national events in Martin, MI, Leicester, NY, Budds Creek, MD, and Rockingham, NC. Along with national event sponsorships, CARQUEST also sponsors three-time IHRA Top Fuel Champion Paul Romine and Pro Modified racer Scott Ray.

CARQUEST began in 1974 with 100 auto parts stores. Today there are nearly 4,000 CARQUEST Auto Parts Stores serving North America. CARQUEST supplies the professional automotive service repair industry with replacement parts, tools and equipment. CARQUEST auto parts are also available to motorists who choose to do their own repairs although due to the advanced technology in today's automotive vehicles, it is CARQUEST's recommendation that repairs be done by professional automotive service technicians. Any CARQUEST Auto Parts Store will be happy to recommend qualified repair centers.
