DAYTONA BEACH, Fla., (Nov. 20, 2001) -- In between racing on ACCELERATION ALLEY and riding DAYTONA DREAM LAPS, guests at DAYTONA USA, the official motorsports attraction of NASCAR, can check out Hank Parker Jr.'s No. 36 GNC Live Well Chevrolet Monte Carlo fielded by Welliver-Jesel Motorsports.
The No. 36 GNC Live Well Chevrolet will take its place inside the new expansion wing of DAYTONA USA on Wednesday, Nov. 21 and will remain inside the attraction through Speedweeks 2002. The car was used by Parker Jr. in the Busch Series season opener at Daytona International Speedway, starting 39th and finishing 14th.
"It's incredibly exciting and very humbling to have one of my cars on display at the 'World Center of Racing,' " Parker Jr. said. "Daytona Beach is the birthplace of NASCAR, and Daytona International Speedway is arguably the most famous racing facility in the world. I'm proud and honored to have my name and my car represented at such a historical place."
The 27-year-old Parker Jr. says he'll inform his fellow Busch Series teams that one of his race cars is sitting inside DAYTONA USA.
"It's something I'll definitely be bragging about to the other drivers in the NASCAR garage," Parker Jr. said. "It's a dream of mine to one day have another of my cars on display at DAYTONA USA, when I hopefully win the Daytona 500. In the meantime, I'm happy to give race fans the chance to see one of my GNC Live Well Chevrolets up close. It also gives me an excuse to visit DAYTONA USA again when I come back to Daytona in 2002 for the EAS/GNC Live Well 300 NASCAR Busch Series race."
Tickets for DAYTONA USA can be purchased online at www.DAYTONAUSA.com or at the door. Tickets for Speedweeks 2002 events, including the Feb. 16 EAS/GNC Live Well 300 Busch Series season opener, can also be purchased online at www.daytonainternationalspeedway.com or by calling the Speedway ticket office at (386) 253-7223.
