Advanced NEC security to boost teams
NEC Computers (UK) and Aston Martin Racing have today (5th July 2006) announced a new technical supply and marketing partnership incorporating the provision of NEC high security notebooks to Aston Martin Racing's engineering and commercial teams.
The partnership, which will be showcased at the forthcoming Goodwood Festival of Speed, brings together two leading brands to maximise the performance and impact for both NEC Computers and Aston Martin Racing, the world's most prestigious motorsport programme.
Aston Martin Racing has adopted NEC Computers as an Official Partner as it recognises the extensive benefits of the NEC Generation notebook which offers high performance and security features that are clearly in line with the team's requirements in the ultra competitive world of motorsport.
The NEC Generation notebooks were used by the Aston Martin Racing team at this year's Le Mans 24 Hours where it secured second place in the GT1 class.
Commenting on the deal, Mike Tonkin, Sales Director UK & Nordics, said: "This new partnership with Aston Martin Racing is testimony to the security attributes of the NEC Generation, one of the most secure notebooks on the market. In an extremely competitive environment, security is paramount and our products provide this guarantee as well as adaptability to diverse environments. It also provides NEC Computers with a high calibre partner for both technical and marketing activity which will be highlighted at key events around the world."
George Howard-Chappell, team principal of Aston Martin Racing, said: "When the difference between winning and losing can literally be a matter of fractions of a second, we need to ensure that we optimise our performance, and that means everything from the engine and tyres to the computing hardware we use, which is why we have chosen the NEC Generation notebook."
The NEC / Aston Martin Racing partnership will also include the evaluation of a branded, high specification, limited edition Aston Martin Racing notebook.
