Annual T. Wayne Robertson NASCAR Winston Cup Preview To be Held January 19th, Winston-Salem North Carolina

In less than six weeks time since the final checkered flag dropped on the 2001 Winston Cup Season, Teams have been busy testing at Daytona, and Las Vegas in preparation for the February running of the Dayton a 500.

Teams are not the only one preparing for NASCARS 54th season.

Fresh from Motorsports 2002,fans continue their pre-season activities January 19th at the Lawrence Joel Veterans Coliseum in Winston Salem North Carolina.

The annual preview is named for the late president of Sports Marketing Enterprises of R.J. Reynolds, T Wayne Robertson. The man who put Winston, in Winston Cup Racing.

The event has been held since 1989, and is primarily a benefit for several charities including The Winston Cup Racing Wives Auxiliary, and Speedway charities to name a few.

Since it's inception, the gathering has raised more than two million dollars.

51 Winston Cup and Busch Grand National competitors are scheduled to participate in three two-hour autograph sessions.

During the festivities, teams showcase there new equipment and paint schemes, as well as raise money by holding the largest one day auction of racing memorabilia including sheet metal, crew uniforms and other one of a kind items.

Fans are expected from more than thirty states in what has become an annual pilgrimage.

Due to recent world events, all fans will be subject to search upon entering the facility.

Doors open 830 am.
