Natacha Gachnang ready to race in Spa
Natacha Gachnang will be on the grid of the Auto GP races in Spa. The swiss driver was forced to miss the series first two events due to the injury occurred to her in the FIA GT1 World Championship maiden race in Abu Dhabi, but she recovered really quickly.
After suffering a double compound fracture of her right leg in April, Natacha needed just eight weeks to be back behind the wheel of a racing car. Pushing hard during the rehabilitation process she managed to be ready in time for the Le Mans 24 Hour, the most difficult proving ground for a driver recovering from an injury. She successfully passed the test, and now she is ready to tackle her Auto GP debut.
"In Le Mans everything was fine - Natacha says - I had no issues while driving the car even if just two months had passed from the accident. It was a very quick recovery, and I have to say that I did put a lot of effort in it, making a lot of rehab and special excercises. Besides this, I was lucky because everything went as planned, without any problems".
What's the feeling debuting on a demanding car like Auto GP in Spa?
"Well I'm happy because even if it is a very difficult track, I know Spa very well. I raced here with the Euro F.3 Open and I loved the circuit, so I'm not worried about debuting here. The car is not the easiest one to drive given its huge power, but I have to say that when I tested it in Brno I immediately had a good feeling and I liked it.
With such premises, what's your aim for the weekend?
"It's hard to say now, because I have a very low mileage on the car compared to my opponents. Obviously, my aim will be getting acquainted with the car in the first sessions and then try to stay with the quickest drivers in the races". Best Regards
