First win for Fabio Onidi /GP Racing
This morning on the Vallelunga track took place the first race for the Euroseries 3000 championship. The first win is for the young Italian Fabio Onidi, GP Racing driver.
Second place for his team mate Roldan Rodriguez who completes a double win for the Veggiano team, ahead of Nicolas Prost (Cerveza Sol - ELK Motorsport).
Great emotions at the start with Roldan Rodriguez who takes the lead followed by his team mate Fabio Onidi. A bad start forces the French Nicolas Prost to the third place, followed by Durango driver Omar Leal, Luiz Razia and Fabio Beretta with the Lola B02/50 of the Team ELK Motorsport. Fabio Onidi then manages to overtake his team mate and goes away straight to the end of the race. Good race also for the young Matteo Cozzari for the Emilio De Villota Motorsport team, who overtakes Francesco Dracone at the start gettino the seventh place and the first two points for the championship.
Health problems for the Estonian driver Marko Asmer who didn't took the start after the second row conquered yesterday in the qualifying.
Today afternoon at 15:30 the second race of the Euroseries 3000 will start with Francesco Dracone (Emmebi Motorsport) and Matteo Cozzari (Emilio De Villota Motorsport) on the first row.
"Of corse I'm very happy. First race and first win despite the third time in qualifying. I manager to get a good start overtaking immediately Nicolas Prost and at the first turn I tried the overtaking on Roldan. Then I just managed the race and the win arrived."
"The race was good. I managed to get a good start, even if Fabio was faster and overtook me at turn 1. Unfortunately the weight difference was important. I'm satisfied anyway and congratulations to Fabio. "
"I didn't have a good start and given I was slower than the top 2 I preferred not to take any risk and to stay third. Now let's see what happens in race 2."
