Bonanomi winner and new championship leader
The Mugello Circuit saw again good racing for Euroseries 3000/Italian F3000 Championship's first heat.
Another clean sweep for Marco Bonanomi: The FMS driver found a commanding performance all race long, with a scaring moment in the middle of the race when he went long: he succesfully managed to keep Martini behind. Avelon's diver was very consistent, attacking Bonanomi and defending his position from Petrov and, in the end, from Ricci. Tuka Rocha and D'Ambrosio were respectively 4th and 5th, while Cressoni finally passed Petrov (long on the "Correntaio" turn) to earn 6th. Caceres finshed in front of Nocera, who had a problem taking off at the start. Whit this new win, Bonanomi equals his mate's record of four victories and takes the lead in both the standings. Everybody now hope to see another exciting race tomorrow. <pre> Mugello circuit, 22 luglio 2006 Race 1 1. Marco Bonanomi Lola B02/50 FMS 13 laps in 22'24"922 2.
