Siedler celebrates dominant victory at Imola
Imola, 15th May 2005 -- ADM Motorsport driver Norbert Siedler took a dominant victory in today's "piccolo" San Marino Grand Prix starting from pole position. The 22-year old Austrian claimed his third victory in F3000 never losing the lead and at the end he crossed the finishing line 9,5 seconds ahead of Italian Massimiliano Busnelli. Fausto Ippoliti had to fight hard for one point with a damaged exhaust after a collision with compatriot Alessandro Bonetti while Stefano Attianese spun and finished eleventh.
Renato Melchioretto (Team Principal)
"A tremendous race for the team and a dominant performance by Norbert. Fausto could not get everything out of the car after his exhaust got damaged and without that incident he would have ended up third or second. It was not only a great victory for us but also a valuable weekend behind the scenes, because we had some very productive meetings that have given us new energy and also some new ideas to rebuild this championship. I think with the right management choices Euro 3000 will be stronger than ever in the following years."
Fausto Ippoliti (Car Nr.6, P8)
"A very unlucky day for me, because I have lost a lot of points by that strange action of Bonetti at Tosa. I was clear ahead of him but he hit me from behind and afterwards my engine didn' provide maximum power. Also my start was not as good as expected, because I had to go into the grass to avoid an accident with Lienemanns. So let' just hope for better luck at Spa."
Norbert Siedler (Car Nr.7, P1)
"I have been close to victory in the first race and today it finally happened. Thanks to my team, that is more or less a family for me and I also want to say thank you to my sponsors that support my program in the European F3000. Now I am looking forward to the next race at Spa, where we lost our last year' race due to the changing weather conditions and I hope for another victory."
Stefano Attianese (Car. Nr.8, P11)
"Well, I know that I need a lot more testing kilometres to show a competitive performance in that series, but I also feel that I get better and better from lap to lap. "
