ADM and the "piccolo" Grand Prix of San Marino
Bareggio, 2005-05-12 -- The "Autodromo Enzo e Dino Ferrari" at Imola, that traditionally hosts the first European Grand Prix, is also the next scene for the European F3000. Renato Melchioretto and his team are confident for their operation in the Emilila Romagna.
Renato Melchioretto (Team Principal)
"First of all we are happy to welcome Carlin Motorsport in our championship. It is a team with a long list of success and definitely fresh blood for the European Formula 3000. We want to prove, that the series is still a valuable springboard for those who want to become professional racing drivers in F1 or Champ Car. Talking about Imola we don't have a lot of data, because we did our last laps on that track in 2001 with Vitor Meira, who has become a successful Indycar-Driver in the meantime. Nevertheless we are confident to find the right package for the upcoming race weekend."
Fausto Ippoliti (Car Nr. 6)
"I know the circuit very well and it definitely belongs to my favourite tracks. First of all I wish to have some better weather, because the conditions at my home race were not really pleasant. The 2nd position at Vallelunga was a good result for the season opener and I hope to add some more points on my account again this weekend."
Norbert Siedler (Car Nr. 7)
"As far as now I have only been racing at Imola on my Sony Playstation und therefore I am happy to add another current GP-Track to my list. To get every section deep in my mind, I will first of all walk around the track or rent a scooter. After that we only need a good Setup, a perfect Qualifying and no bad surprises in the race."
Stefano Attianese (Car Nr. 8)
"I obviously have to grope to the limit slowly after my time out, but the cooperation with my engineer and my team mates is helping me a lot with that issue. It's a pity that I can only talk to Norbert with hands and legs. I have watched him handling the car on the edge in the wet Vallelunga Qualifying, so maybe he could give me some good tips."
