Bonanomi back to victory. Ricci and Tuka Rocha on the podium
A very exciting race 1 took place in Budapest this afternoon. Poleman Marco Bonanomi (Fisichella Motorsport) won after a solitary ride with more than 11 seconds on his teammate Giacomo Ricci. Ricci did a wonderfull race too, and thanks to the fastest lap signed during the very last lap of the race he is still the leader of the championships ranking, with one point of advantage on the winner of race 1. A brave Tuka Rocha (Vanni/Traini) got the third place after a perfect start from the third row of the grid. A stunning performance, if you consider that he drives a Lola Light and he had to face the furious assaults of both Petrov and Caceres.
The uruguayan driver of Minardi Team finisehd fourth under the chequered flag, ahead of Stefano Gattuso (Autosport), Cressoni and Petrov. Eighth place for the southafrican Cronje, followed by Paolo Nocera, penalized with a drive-trought in the pit lane due to an illegal move in a chicane against teammante Ricci.
Ivan Bellarosa ended the race just before Roldan Rodriguez, shifted in the back rows after a mistake, while Puglisi was the last of the pack. Great sportmanship on the grid: the technicians of FMS helped the collegues of Minardi Team in starting the reluctant engine of Martini's car. <pre> RACE 1 ROUND 4 1.
