A positive race in France for GP Racing
For the second race of the Euro 3000 series championship, the Venetian Team GP Racing managed to finish the race with both cars on track .Roman Rusinov was in fourth place and Fabrizio del Monte finished the race in ninth place. The Magny-Cours track proved to be quite a challenge for Ruisnov who battled to remain in the first few positions and Del Monte at length finished his first race after the accident in Estoril.
Tancredi Pagiaro , Team Manager
"I am all in all satisfied with how things went with the race. We were really close to reaching the podium with Rusinov. It was only an electrical problem with the engine that prevented him from getting the first positions. Instead, Fabrizio had a few problems with this track but will definitely have time to prove himself in the near future. The team proved to be united, prepared and competitive. This gives me a lot of faith for the next races.
"Overall, I'm satisfied with how things went. During the qualifying session, we had a good setup but I encountered some traffic on the track. Luckily I still managed to start in third place. At the start of the race, I tried to overtake Farfus who was in second place but wasn't' successful. During the eighth or ninth lap, the car starting having a few electrical problems with the engine which made me lose some power. It was at this point that Grassotto managed to overtake me. At a certain point , I thought that I wasn't going to be able to finish the race. I feel that the fourth place however is a good outcome."
Fabrizio Del Monte
"Throughout the whole weekend, I had a few problems adapting to the track. That's why I wasn't able to do my best both during the qualifying session and during the race. The whole time during the race I had to compete with a strong understeer which made it difficult for me to take on the curves. With the Magny -Cours race behind me now, I want to redeem myself at the next race in Pergusa."
