GP Racing has won its 1st place win of the season in the Euro 3000 Series on the Brno race track this weekend thanks to Fabrizio Del Monte. The Russian Roman Rusinov didn't participate in the race: the engine broke down due to over revs during the morning's warm up. Del Monte took advantage of Bruni and Farfus' accident and immediately conquered the first place after the first lap of the race. He fought off Grassotto's attacks and celebrated his first victory in the Euro 3000 series.
Tancredi Pagiaro, Team Manager
"It was a memorable day except for one thing: Rusinov caused the engine to break down due to over revs during the warm up and couldn't participate.
Del Monte made progress throughout the weekend: he was 4th during the qualifications, third during the warm up and first at the end of the race. This victory repays use for all of our hard work. We started the season with very few results but our car has improved race after race and that's thanks to all of the team's work. Nevertheless, this victory hasn't satisfied our thirst for success. It actually stimulates us to do better and to try to get the highest step on the podium again."
"I'm really happy for Fabrizio and the team. This victory means a lot to us all. However I'm disappointed that I couldn't participate in the race. This just means that I'll have top prove myself during the next race."
Fabrzio Del Monte
"To say that I'm just satisfied is to say very little. I came to Brno without knowing the track and I'm leaving with my first win in the Euro 3000 Series. I started the race off well. Bruni and Farfus had a collision and immediately eliminated each other. At first, I was afraid that I could have been involved in the accident as well. But I was able to avoid them. I was in first place for all of the 27 laps and I pushed the car to the maximum. I never lost my concentration. It's been a while since my last win and I had forgotten what it felt like. My last win was in 2000 when I was competing in the English Formula Renault Championship."
