Great anticipation surrounds the start of the 2003 Euro 3000 Series Championship at the German race in Nürburgring next weekend (4th May). Team Draco Multiracing USA will greets the grid with the Brazilian AUGUSTO FARFUS Jnr and SVEN HEIDFELD; the German driver debuts in F.3000 series after showing a good and confident performance in the pre-season test days.
Adriano Morini - Team Principal
"I think we have started in the right direction and obviously our main objective is to be between the top teams, fighting for the Title. Augusto's lap times confirm the good job done by him and the team; he has a good feeling with his Lola so now he has only to sharpen himself. Sven is at his first approach to this kind of car: we have to patience and wait until he has understood the car and he has learnt the tracks. At the present time we are working on this".
Nadia Morini - Financial Manager
"We are very happy and enthusiastic for the season that is going to start, also because the first round will be run on a wonderful circuit: Nürburgring! This 2003 season will engage all the teams on the best European tracks, there are many news about the TV coverage (worldwide) "live" and postponed that will add a wider visibility to our championship. I'm sure that it will be done an excellent work; we are actually moving on a difficult moment due to the deep economical crisis that involves all the areas and, last but not least, the sport world. In spite of this, I have to admit that the Euro 3000 Series is one of the category with less problems thanks to a good management and thanks to the important participation of the teams".
Sven Heidfeld - Driver Team Draco car # 7
"It's a short time since I entered in this team, but I have already understood how Team Draco is used to work and I'm satisfied and confident in this season 2003".
Augusto Farfus Junior - Driver Team Draco car # 8
"This year I'm feeling stronger and I believe to have all the chances to do well and to battle for the Title. During all the test days I was quicker. My team is wonderful, it's my family. I have the support of the team, of my dad, of the Credicard and this is very important for me. The season is going to start and we can improve; we have only to be quite, to work well, as we are used to do, and not to leave out any details".
2003 NEWS - Introduction of some news for the 2003 season such as: a greater internationality with a race planned on a F.1 track such as Magny-Cours; a wider TV coverage (2live" and postponed) in all Europe and World (www.filmcenter.com.br); new compound of tires provided by the Avon that have a higher performance of nearly ½ sec.
TEST DAYS - In all the pre-season test days Team Draco set the fastest time with Farfus while Heidfeld showed an increased and improved performance. During the private test at Pannonia Ring (H) last 01st April, Farfus set a new outright lap record for the track; his team mate Sven, despite continuing his test-by-test- improvement, could only complete 15 laps after being forced to pit with a pain at his chest.
