After heavy rain fallen on track Saturday, today's race was tough to be wet but a beautiful sunshine welcomed the Euro 3000 Series teams this morning. Since the warm-up team Draco demonstrated to be at the top, snatching the 1st and the 2nd quickest time of the session with Sven Heidfeld two tenths faster than De Pourtales. A superb podium finish was the perfect way to end the season. The start of the race was like a thriller on the street circuit of Cagliari, today. At he green lights Farfus made a clear start and got to overtake the pole-man Melo at the first curve, but he probably gave too much power and he spun; team mate Heidfeld made a brilliant start, too, and was 4th just in some metres, when De Pourtales spun blocking almost all the followers. At the re-start Brazilian Farfus (started with old tyres, ruined after his spin) had a clear start but Jaime Melo closed the door at the first curve. The 2003 Champion tried various times to overtake him, but Melo didn't allowed him to. All what Farfus could do was to chase in second position. During all the remaining laps Farfus was fast but couldn't do enough to keep the incredible strong rhythm Melo was maintaining. He drove consistent, mindful not to commit any mistake and close the season at podium, again. Team Mate Sven Heidfeld had a really tough race. At the second start he maintained his position with great determination to finish into the point zone and was also able to set quick times close to the fastest one. Chasing Pastorelli Sven felt the pressure of follower Matteo Grassotto, but was able to keep control on him. At lap 47 the German reduced the gap he had on Pastorelli but they enter in touch and Sven was forced to came back to the pit and change the nose. When he rejoined the track his only goal was to regain his position but his race finished earlier, when he crashed against the wall at lap 56/60, vanishing any hope for a podium finish.

Sven Heidfeld (car #7) -- DNF "At the beginning I was a little bit slower because I had some problem with my car that was not perfectly balanced. After 10/15 laps the car changed a little and I could be quickest. I was lying in 6th position when I tried to pass Pastorelli, but he closed the door; probably he braked a little bit earlier than me and I hit his car. I had the nose of my car ruined and I was forced to change it. On this track is really difficult to pass. Unfortunately at the chicane I had oversteer and I crashed. It's a pity, but I thank my team for the job done".

Augusto Farfus Junior (car #8) -- P2 "I tried for the entire race to keep Melo's rhythm, but it was really impossible to. WE finished on podium 7 times on 9 rounds and I won the championship title, so all what I can say is that I'm satisfied and happy for the season. With my team we did a wonderful job; it was a great season for me. Thanks to my team, Adriano and Nadia Morini, all my sponsors and fans that supported me for the all year"
