This weekend the Sardinian street circuit of Cagliari will host the ninth and final round of the Euro 3000 Series Championship. With one race in advance team Draco driver Farfus was crowned CHAMPION of the European F3000 championship thanks to another superb victory and thanks to the constant performances shown during all the season. The 20 year-old is the fourth Brazilian driver to win the championship since the Series was found, last 1999. Augusto was joined on the Jerez podium by team-mate Heidfeld, who overcame chest pains earlier in the season to finish strongly and take a well-deserved first top three result.
Since the beginning of this season the Italian Team Draco (Adriano and Nadia Morini are the team principals) has always worked hard in order to give its drivers all the possible chances to take victories and finish at podium and the team's efforts had been proudly paid by the 6th Championship Title won on track in Spain, two weeks ago. In 2001 the yellow team clinched the title with young talented Felipe Massa, who jumped in F1 to race with Sauber the year later. 4 more championships were won with M.Campos (1994), P.Crinelli (1993), P.Lamy (1991) and Ferrrari driver R.Barrichello (1990).
In motor racing, as we all know, the engines are never switched off and Team Draco is looking ahead for the next 2004 season. On 5th November, coming back from the Cagliari race, the team will stop at Magione (Umbria-Italy) for a testing day with new drivers. Further testing are scheduled for the beginning of December. The place and the names of the drivers who will test will be soon announced.
TOGETHER for CHARITY -- Both Team Draco drivers (Sven Heidfeld and Augusto Farfus Jnr) are involved in the famous "Associazione Mondiale Piloti" (www.nazionalepiloti.org) whose main purpose is to collect money (throughout football matches) to be then addressed to some associations for charity. Team Draco drivers play side by side with M. Schumacher, Alonso, Trulli, Fisichella,--, and other famous drivers coming from different categories (F1, Motogp, Rally, F3000,..). The entire takings are devolved to the AIMA, KINDER IN NOT -- UNESCO, IRDA and Andrea Tudisco plus futher Associations.
