Gearbox gremlins plague Yasukawa's strong start.

Yasukawa thought the monkey was off his back; he earned his best qualifying result on a road or street course of the season yesterday with his sixth place effort. But for the third straight event he was taken out of the race by circumstances beyond his control when he had a gearbox failure on the ninth lap.

Yasukawa on the Race:

"It is unfortunate that we qualified so well and lost the gearbox after just nine laps. I think we could have been in the top five pretty easily, especially after seeing what happened out there, but it's a tough track on the equipment. The car felt pretty good, I was just settling in, seeing what other people were going to do and working with my roll-bars. Before I could really start racing I was stuck in third and that was it. It is a shame, it was my best qualifying result on a road or street course this season and I think it could have been a very good day for us in the points today."
