Valiente and Moran Jr. penalized, Yasukawa moves to fourth in points.
It was a frustrating weekend for Yasukawa and the Hylton Motorsports team as they struggled with the handling of the #9 Autobacs/u.s. print/Toyota/Swift throughout the Toronto event. Leading up to Toronto, Yasukawa had completed every event in the top-ten and had earned three top-five finishes including his win in Milwaukee. Yasukawa started the Toronto Molson Indy in 12th position with the anticipation of a clean race and another top-ten points paying result to protect his third place position in the championship point's standings. His plan did not pan out, as he was hit and spun by fellow rookie, Waldemar Coronas. Yasukawa's damage to the right front of his car proved to be terminal and his race was finished before the first lap was completed. Yasukawa fell from third to fifth in the championship point's standings.
It was announced today, that race winner Michael Valiente and third place finisher Rocky Moran Jr. were penalized after K.C. Van Niman, the Chief Steward for the Atlantic series after review yesterday's race well into the evening. Valiente was penalized for "short-cutting" the course when he gained position from his pass of the first and second place cars in turn one. Valiente was assessed a five point penalty, yet remained the race winner and the series leader.
Rocky Moran Jr.'s Toyota/Swift failed the post race technical inspection. Moran's 14 championship points and $10,000.00 from his third place finish were revoked. Yasukawa moved from fifth to fourth in the championship standings as a result of Moran's penalty.

Yasukawa on Saturday Qualifying:
"We actually had a pretty bad run this morning. We couldn't get the set-up figured out. I had a clean lap, but I just couldn't maximize the car."
Yasukawa on the Race:
"I was tapped from behind by Coronas coming out of the corner and it spun me. I left him (Coronas) enough space and I was playing fair. I am really disappointed because I have had a great season so far, finishing in the top-ten in every race. We have had a very consistent streak going, unfortunately this really hurt us points wise. I was looking for a clean race and hoping to walk out of here with some points."
