MI-JACK CONQUEST RACING ATLANTIC DRIVER GRAHAM RAHAL GRABS PROVISIONAL POLE IN SAN JOSE
San Jose, California, July 28, 2006 -- Mi-Jack Conquest Racing Atlantic driver Graham Rahal ensured himself a starting spot on the front row for Sunday's Canary Foundation Grand Prix of San Jose Presented by Taylor Woodrow by capturing, for a third time this season, the provisional pole position. With a time of 56.105 seconds, Rahal set a new track record for the San Jose street course. His teammate at Conquest, Ryan Lewis, put in a good showing with the tenth position on the provisional grid, but will be looking to put together a better time in tomorrow's final round of qualifying which takes place at 3:45 p.m. eastern time.

"We've had a good record on street tracks. We took both of the poles in Toronto and we're looking to do the same here. When you look down the road at the championship, we're one step closer. It's nice to be quickest, but the points are the most important thing. We jumped on the track this morning and were quick right away. Towards the end of qualifying, I backed off from Hinchcliffe so that I would have a clear lap and just put it together."
Ryan Lewis #30 Insport Sport Management
"The qualifying session would have gone a lot better I think if we would have hooked our sectors up and just get a good clean lap. We could have been much further up the grid, possibly P2. At the moment I'm not driving the car as consistently as I could be. For the next session we are not going to make any massive changes to the car, it's pretty good. It will be some tweaking in my driving and see what the times are going to be. It's looking good though, Graham's well up there, he's got a good pace and for us it is a matter of hooking up good lap times."
