KATHERINE LEGGE HEADING TO PORTLAND TO REGAIN GROUND

British driver Katherine Legge is ready to regain ground during June 18-19 Toyota Atlantic Championship doubleheader at Portland International Raceway, the first permanent circuit in the 2005 schedule.

Legge has posted two top fives in a row and currently she trails leader Charles Zwolsman by only 6 points, two races into the schedule, being currently second in the championship standings (54-60).

"Monterrey was a disappointing result for me (fifth). I am hoping to prove that I have learned from my experience in Mexico and I will try to do a good job in Portland. I am in a strong position in the championship. I have a great car and I am with the best team (Polestar Motor Racing), so there are no excuses!" she said.

"I am hoping to have good races at Portland because it is a doubleheader and it's very important for points and the championship," said Legge, who became the fist female driver to win a Toyota Atlantic Championship race in her debut during season-opening 2005 Toyota Grand Prix of Long Beach.

"I have never been in Portland before - as with most of the tracks in North America. I'm a rookie not only to Atlantics but to the USA! I have watched the track on videos and it looks great. I believe they have changed it slightly from last year. So, I'll have to wait until the track walk to see the new bits," PKV Racing-backed driver said when heading to the 1.969-mile circuit in Portland.
