Hunter-Reay hit from behind, finished 22nd.

For the second straight weekend, Hunter-Reay was hit from behind and taken out of contention for the race victory and 2002 CART Toyota Atlantic Championship. Hunter-Reay was hit from behind on the first lap by fellow rookie Marc DeVilles and was forced to return to the pits under green flag conditions to change his rear wing. The change cost Hunter-Reay two laps and he returned to the field at the back of the back. He gave the fans a terrific show today as he charged his way through the field, passing all but the top four cars. He finished the race in 22nd position.

Hunter-Reay on the Race:
"Once again, due to no fault of my own, I was hit from behind and it may as well have ended my day. The damage forced me to come in a get a new rear wing, after that we were two laps down and it basically became a test session. I finished the race, but it was really frustrating. That is five DNF's (did not finish) this season and that is incredibly disappointing."
