Alex Garcia qualified in the Milwaukee Mile.

Milwaukee, IL. June 1st - Transnet Racing driver, Venezuelan Alex Garcia, classified 20th for the third round in the competitive Toyota Atlantic Championship. The race will be held Sunday June 2nd at 70 laps in the famous Milwaukee Mile oval.

"It has been a difficult week," said Alex after the qualifying session. "We went out for the first time this week with the new 014 chassis and although we improved we still have a lot of work ahead of us. One of the most important changes was to the sway bars, they allowed us to balance the front of the car better. Yet, the vibration on the back of the car doesn't allow me to take the turns like I would like to."

Greg Sorrentino, Team Manager for Transnet Racing said: "With every lap we have improved. We are going in the right direction with the new chassis. We decided to use the same set-up we used for the 008 chassis in the test we did here a couple of weeks ago, but it didn't go the way we expected. We haven't had enough time to test this car before this racing weekend. We will make a few adjustments for the warm-up before the race."

He also said they thought about using the 008 for qualifying and race, but finally decided to go with the 014. "We need to develop the new chassis. The more we test it, the more we will learn about it".

The Milwaukee Mile race will be the third round of the Toyota Atlantic Championship and third also for Alex and for Transnet Racing.

Speedvision will broadcast the race live on Sunday, June 2nd.
