Rain cancels Milwaukee quailfying
Patrick will start seventh

WEST ALLIS, WI . . . Heavy evening thunderstorms canceled the on track activities at the Milwaukee Mile washing out qualifying for Saturday's Milwaukee Mile Centennial 250. As a result the starting grid for the CART Toyota Atlantic Championship first ever night race will be based on the combined practice times from the three completed practice sessions.

Team Rahal's Danica Patrick will start on the inside of row four based on her fast lap of 147.875 mph which was seventh quick overall in the combined practice sessions. "The car wasn't quite as good today as it was yesterday, but a lot of that can be chalked up to the deteriorating conditions," said Patrick. "I feel pretty comfortable in the car and I am starting to feel like I am getting a feel for this place.

"My engineers have done a great job of getting me a car that is quick but is also comfortable enough that I am not fighting the car the whole way around."

Patrick was one of six drivers who actually logged their qualifying laps, however the times were negated when the track went yellow for rain following her run and stayed yellow for the rest of the evening. The Toyota Atlantic Championship race at the Milwaukee Mile will be run Saturday afternoon at 6:00 p.m. EDT and will be rebroadcast on Sunday evening at 9:00 p.m.
