HIGHLAND PARK, Ill., Aug. 2, 1998 - KOOL /Toyota Atlantic Championship racing fans have the opportunity to win a cool $1 million, and a slew of other prizes, by watching upcoming Atlantic race broadcasts on ESPN2.
At the conclusion of any of the upcoming KOOL /Toyota Atlantic Championship race broadcasts on ESPN2 on Aug. 8 (Trois-Rivieres race telecast), on Aug. 15 (Mid-Ohio race broadcast) and on Aug. 22 (Road America race broadcast), Atlantic fans can call a special toll-free number to state the name of the featured Atlantic driver during the sweepstakes announcement, to be eligible for prizes. The sweepstakes has been running since May 30.
The first 1,500 entries from each program will be eligible to win a round-trip vacation for two to the Sept. 12 KOOL /Toyota Atlantic Championship race at Laguna Seca, where the winner will have the opportunity to draw a number from 0-59, before the race. If the number drawn matches the number of seconds at the end of the "Official Time of the Race" (e.g. 59 minutes and 32 SECONDS), the participant will win $1 million.
"We're delighted Toyota and other sponsors are participating in the 25th Anniversary Toyota Atlantic Championship Sweepstakes to award the fans of the KOOL /Toyota Atlantic Championship," said Vicki O'Connor, president of Pro-Motion Agency, Ltd., which operates the series.
