FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE LAZZARO JOINS PLATINUM SOUND RACING TEAM FOR 1997 KOOL/TOYOTA ATLANTIC CHAMPIONSHIP

HIGHLAND PARK, ILL. (Nov. 24) -- SC & T International, Inc., and the Platinum Sound Racing Team have named second-year Atlantic driver Anthony Lazzaro, of Acworth, Ga., as its lead driver for the 1997 KOOL/Toyota Atlantic Championship.

Lazzaro will drive the Platinum Sound Racing Team Per4mer Racing Wheel Ralt RT-41 under the direction of Phillips Motorsports, of Clackamas, Ore.

"It's really exciting to finally have the opportunity to compete with an experienced team and with a new, aggressive company like SC & T," said Lazzaro. "Another thing that I'm pleased about is that the effort I put in last year with BG Products in running a small team really paid off in terms of bigger opportunities.

"The testing program is something I've never had before. I've never had the luxury of really testing in any series I've ever competed, except for a couple of days in the 1995 Hooter's Cup. That will be a welcome addition and it's also a huge relief to have my program in place this early. I'll be able to concentrate on driving and focus on the championship instead of being concerned with making the next race."

"We are delighted to have a most talented and promising race car driver become a part of the Platinum Sound Racing Team," commented SC & T International, Inc., CEO and president Jamie Copland. "With Anthony and Pierre (Phillips), we have the ideal combination to aggressively compete for the 1997 Atlantic championship."

SC & T International, Inc., is a Phoenix, Arizona-based developer and international marketer of computer accessory and peripheral products under the Platinum Sound name. Its current product line includes multimedia stereo keyboards, subwoofer speaker systems, sound amplifiers, and video racing game steering wheels.

"We are expressly pleased to have an association with SC & T, and look forward to a long term involvement with them," said Phillips Motorsports team owner Pierre Phillips. "We are also extremely happy to have Anthony on board because we feel we have an opportunity to run for our goal - a series championship for the Platinum Sound Racing Team. We'll start our testing program as soon as the transporter gets out of the paint shop and we fit Anthony to the car."

Lazzaro's racing background spans over 12 years. The two-time Hooter's FF2000 champion (1994-95) is also a five-time World Karting Association national champion (1987-89, 1991-92); three World Karting Association world champion (1988-89, 1991); Formula Ford titlist in the 1993 SCCA Valvoline National Championships; and Rookie-of-the-Year in the 1993 Oldsmobile Pro Series.

Despite only running in 10 out of 12 races during his inaugural Atlantic campaign in 1996, Lazzaro finished sixth overall including a fourth-round victory at Milwaukee. He was also presented with the Jovy Marcelo Sportsman Award at the year-end awards banquet.
