Fogarty Confirmed for Second Year at Dorricott

Former Barber Dodge Pro Series campaigner Jon Fogarty of Portola Valley, Calif. has been confirmed for a second year with Championship winning Dorricott Racing. Last year’s Indy Lights championship winning team with Townsend Bell, another Barber Dodge alumnus, will turn its focus on the CART Toyota Atlantic Series after the Lights Series’ demise.

Fogarty missed half of the 2001 season with a nagging back injury caused by a herniated disk. The 26-year old returned sooner than expected at season’s end as strong as ever. At Road Atlanta, the tenth of twelve rounds he qualified on the outside of row 1, eventually finishing fifth. In the penultimate round at Laguna Seca, he finished second to Bell. Fogarty elected not to compete at the last race at the high-speed California Speedway. In 2002, he’ll look to make for the lost time. It will be his first year of competing in the Atlantic racer.

Fogarty finished second overall in the 2000 Barber Dodge Pro Series after finishing fourth in 1999.
