(April 12, 2001 Irvine, CA.) Hoover Orsi pilots the U.S. Print # 9 car to an impressive second place finish in the CART - Toyota Atlantic Championship's first race. The Grand Prix of Long Beach was Hylton Motorsports and U.S. PRINT's season opener after the rebuilding efforts during the off-season. "We are pleased with our 2nd placed finish, and the strength of our program" said Team Manager Richard Raeder. Raeder continued, "with the first race behind us, we are confident that we are a contender for the 2001 championship and will have many more podiums".

Orsi started the 3-day race weekend with the fastest qualifying times for most of the practice sessions. Then on the last lap of the first qualifying session, DSTP and Lynx's posted times quicker than Hylton Motorsports. Hylton's engineers made a few minor adjustments and were ready to take back the lead during the early morning second qualifying session, but the weather turned bad, and the wind and rain prevented the drivers from pushing the Toyota powered cars to the limits.

Orsi started the race in third (3rd) position and quickly passed rookie Joey Hand driving for DSTP and then move to lead position by dropping inside of series veteran David Rutledge (Lynx's Racing), and easily took the lead. Orsi held on to the lead position for the fist half of the race and then Rutledge made an impressive move and regained the lead.

"It was a great to finish second on the first race of the season," said the Brazilian driver Orsi. "I was able to get the lead on lap 6 and keep it for the first half of the race. But, unfortunately, I had some oversteer in some of the corners, and David (Rutledge) was able to over take me. After that, I didn't have the speed to try and make a move on David and get back in the lead."

Team Owner Keith Hylton comments on the opening day race. " It was a good start for the season opener, we puts some points on the board...that being said we are hear to win... not come in second...the competition this year will be by fare, the most competitive in North America with teams like Lynx, DSTP and Shank Racing...it will be an exciting and emotional season to watch".
