Chardon, Ohio-based DSTP Atlantic has captured two victories out of five races thus far, in only its first season of CART Toyota Atlantic competition. Rice is currently third in the drivers' championship standings by virtue of two wins, one second-place finish and one pole position. He also has led the most laps in each of four of this year's races.

"We're hoping to keep this momentum going throughout the weekend," said long-time Chardon resident Jim Griffith, who serves as DSTP's vice president of operations as well as Rice's engineer. "We had a strong day today, but now our focus is on what we need to do to keep us on top tomorrow. We made some great strides this afternoon, and hopefully we will continue to do well in front of our friends and family members who are joining us this weekend."

The DSTP Atlantic team also features Chardon residents Pam Griffith, Bruce Potter, Marc Armstrong, Jason Robb, Richard Jones, Charlie Cornish, and Ohio native Jeremy Fox. The provisional line-up following Rice is Andrew Bordin (1:09.228), David Rutledge, Martin Basso and Alex Gurney. Saturday's CART Toyota Atlantic activities begin with a 40-minute practice session at 9:00 am, followed by qualifying at 1:00 pm. Sunday's 32-lap, 67.392-mile race is scheduled to begin at 10:30 am.
