Coronas couldn`t take a good result from Trois Rivieres.
The Argentinian driver Waldemar Coronas couldn`t finish the traditional race at the circuit of Trois Rivieres, valid for the ninth round of the CART Toyota Atlantic series because of an engine problem four laps before the chequered flag.
In the short warm up of 15 minutes, Coronas marked the ninth best time with 1:02.202 at 0.989 of the fastest time realized by Michael Valiente, followed by Alex Gurney at 0.080 and the Mexican Luis Diaz at 0.526.
In the race, Coronas who started twelfth was making a good job until in the lap 39 appeared the engine problem that forced him to quit on lap 41.
Finally the competition was won by the Canadian Michael Valiente of the Lynx Racing. The winner completed the 45 laps in 49:07.433, followed by Alex Gurney of the Dorricott Racing at just 0.742 and the third M. de Vellis of the Sierra Racing at 13.759s.
In the championship Michael Valiente is leading with 123 points over the 103 of Jon Fogarty and the 93 of Ryan Hunter Reay. Waldemar Coronas is eleventh with 48 points.
After the race the Argentinian said: ¨We couldn`t be in front positions in all the weekend. The category presents greats fights and it shows that in the qualify, 14 cars were in just one second. In the race we were doing a good job but unfortunately the car stopped. It`s a pity because of the effort of the team. I hope that in Elkhart Lake we complete a good race¨
