Patrick endures frustrating first day at Cleveland.

CLEVELAND, OH . . .Team Rahal's Danica Patrick fought with an ill handling car and endured a day of frustration at Burke Lakefront Airport on the first day of the Argent Mortgage Toyota Atlantic 100K. Patrick took 12th on the provisional grid with a fast lap of 110.546 mph.

"I never got a great feeling from the car today," said Patrick. "It never felt like it was right and the harder I pushed the more the car moved around and the slower we got. As a driver you will face trying days like this where no matter what you do you seem to get farther from the answer. My engineers and I are going to sit down and take a long look at the car and what we can do to address the problems. Sometimes the solution is as easy as taking a step back and reviewing the data. It was a frustrating day, one that I will be glad to forget."

Rookie points leader A.J. Allmendinger captured the provisional pole position and guaranteed himself a front row starting position for Saturday's race with a fast lap of 115.297 mph.

Qualifying for Saturday's Argent Mortgage Toyota Atlantic 100K will continue late tomorrow afternoon (4:45 - 5:15 pm) on the 2.10 mile course at Burke Lakefront Airport.
