ROCK & ROLL HALL OF FAME & MUSEUM NAMED PRESENTOR FOR CLEVELAND KOOL/TOYOTA ATLANTIC CHAMPIONSHIP RACE

HIGHLAND PARK, Ill. ( July 1, 1997) - When the first ever running of the KOOL/TOYOTA Atlantic Championship at Cleveland's Burke Lakefront Airport kicks off on Sunday, July 13, it will be joined by one of the most esteemed "labels" in the professional music industry - the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame and Museum. The KOOL/TOYOTA Atlantic Championship and "rock n' roll's" signature home have joined forces for the Medic Drug Grand Prix of Cleveland when the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame and Museum presents the KOOL/TOYOTA Atlantic Championship. "The Grand Prix in Cleveland is one of the true highlights of the city's annual calendar," said Museum director of communications Tim Moore. "The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and Museum, one of the city's newest jewels, is thrilled to have the opportunity to be involved in this event, and to partner with the KOOL/TOYOTA Atlantic Championship." The Rock & Roll Hall of Fame and Museum, which is located in Cleveland, will engage in a variety of activities and promotions throughout the Medic Drug Grand Prix of Cleveland including trophy presentations by a Museum executive; Museum executive and/or rock n' roll celebrity participation in the race start command, "Gentleman, Start Your Toyota Engines;" and much more. Extensive television exposure of the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame and Museum and its race weekend presentation will be produced by John B. Mullin, Inc., of Westlake Village, Calif., and First Auto Sports Television. "The series is honored to have a sponsor as prestigious as the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame and Museum in our inaugural race at Cleveland," said Vicki O'Connor, president of Pro-Motion Agency, Ltd., the company which administers the Atlantic series. "The parallels between motor racing and the world of rock n' roll music and its industry are a great part of what makes this joint venture such an obvious fit." Round six of the KOOL/TOYOTA Atlantic Championship, presented by the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame and Museum, is the midway point for the 12-race SCCA Pro Racing sanctioned Atlantic series, and will be telecast on ESPN2, Saturday, July 19, between 3:00 p.m. and 4:00 p.m. ET.
