SONOMA, Calif. (August 6) Chuck West returned from Canada unscathed and with six points in his pocket and now looks forward to returning to Mid-Ohio this weekend for the ninth round of the KOOL/Toyota Atlantic championship. "Mid-Ohio is one of my all-time favorite tracks," West said. "The first time I raced here was in 1994 at a national event in a Formula Mazda. I had never seen the place before and qualified on pole for the Mazdas, which was great, because there were 65 cars in the race! I won the Mazda class and finished fifth overall and ended up ahead of two or three Atlantic cars, as well. Last year, we had a hard time setting the car up, but once the race rolled around, we were able to make some real progress through the field and finished eighth after starting well back in the field. "We got in a few laps of testing here earlier in the year and have brought some new aerodynamic and suspension tweaks that we're pretty excited about. Now we'll have the chance to try them out on a track that we're familiar with. Since we're out of the points chase, we're using these last races to learn as much as possible and as an opportunity to work with our sponsors. This weekend, goracing.com will be debuting our team on their home page and we'll be helping them collect all the material they need to get our website up and running." West's new website will feature sponsors Red Line Oil, Martini Sunglasses, The Harvest Group, UniSeal gloves, as well as a photo gallery, biographical and results section, traveling commentary, crew information, marketing opportunity sections and many more.
