Second year PPIM Atlantic driver Andrew Bordin, took the checkered flag to victory one year ago here at Road America. The Road America victory was his first of the 1999 season, but not his last, as he went on to win in Houston, and finished third in the series points championship. Bordin's maiden victory this season came one month ago in Toronto, and he has finished second twice (Milwaukee and Montreal). Bordin will attempt to defend his Road America title as he battles for the series championship, in which he is currently ranked third. Rookie Dan Wheldon will make his Road America debut this weekend. Wheldon is currently ranked second in the series point's standings with 103 points, and leads the Rookie of the Year point's battle. Wheldon won his first Atlantic race, the season opener in Homestead, and has earned three pole positions to date.

</pre> "I am really happy to be back at Road America. It is always nice to come to a track as the defending race winner. Trois Rivieres was such a disappointment; I am looking forward to getting back into the car and making up as many points as possible. We are at a critical point in the season right now, and I need to focus on strong, solid races in order to chip away at Buddy's points lead. I think we have a very strong set-up for Road America. My car last year was good, but everyone is faster this year, so we have spent a lot of time fine-tuning the set-up, to make sure we are as competitive as possible. We should have a very good weekend."
