Stephan C. Roy debuts a second season in Formula Atlantic
Long Beach, California - It is this Saturday, in the streets of Long Beach, California, that Stephan C. Roy will undertake his second CART Toyota-Atlantic Championship season. New season, new team, new hopes and a new partner. Autosport Basi racing school joins Stephan as a new sponsor. Thanks to the Autosport Basi racing school, Stephan C. Roy will allow his sponsors to experience first hand the excitement of formula car racing.
The racing school, opened last year by the former operators of the Jim Russell Racing School in Mont-Tremblant, is proud to announce that it will support the only Quebec racer entered in the 2001 CART Toyota-Atlantic championship.
Thanks to this new partnership, Stephan's other sponsors will have the opportunity to take place behind the wheel of the school's formula cars and experience the intensity of auto racing on the tarmac of Autodrome St-Eustache.
It would have proven a formidable task to allow Stephan's sponsor to discover race driving in a better setting. Renowned drivers such as the late great Gilles Villeneuve, his son and 1997 Formula One World Champion Jacques, have learned from the teachings of Autosport Basi's management team members.
"My partners will finally be able to experience first-hand the exhilirating feeling of attacking a curve at the extreme cutting edge, said Roy. Moreover, they will do it with the help of seasoned pros who helped me fine tune my driving over the years. After this experience, they will undoubtedly understand why I pursue a racing career."
Promising second season, Stephan C. Roy will undertake his second season in the CART Toyota-Atlantic Championship in Long Beach this weekend. After a very enriching maiden year with a minor team, Stephan will now drive a Swift race car prepared by the renowned P-1 Racing Team of San Clemente, California. In doing so, he will follow in the footsteps of 1996 IndyCar Champion Jimmy Vasser and current CART Team Players driver Alexandre Tagliani.
Proof of a satisfying experience, most of Stephan's sponsor from the 2000 season are returning. Bell Mobility communication services, Momo racing equipment, Port-A-Cool cooling systems and Castrol oils are all adding their continuing support to the one Autosport Basi announced today. -30-
