AJ Allmendinger won his sixth race of the season today at the Circuit Gilles Villeneuve, reinforcing his hold on the Toyota Atlantic Championship points lead. The lead driver for RuSport Racing led for the entire 25 lap race distance, easily defeating his closest rival for the Atlantic title, Ryan Dalziel. The amazing American rookie Allmendinger now leads Scotsman Dalziel by 26 points with only 2 races remaining.

While the race for the lead featured no drama, the next several positions were in dispute for the whole race. Dalziel and the second RuSport driver, Aaron Justus, got around outside front row starter Michael Valiante early in the race, and Valiante spent the rest of the race holding off Jonathan Macri, Joey Hand, and Danica Patrick for fourth place.

The real excitement occurred in the race's final laps. First, Hand got around Macri for fifth place with just a few laps remaining and began to put pressure on Valiante for fourth. Then on the final lap, Patrick put Macri down to seventh, but the Canadian rallied back to retake the position before the finish.
