Japan's GT300 class to race alongside ASLMS prototypes and GTs

Cars from Super GT and Le Mans Series will compete in the same race for the first time.

The Japan based GT Association (GTA) has confirmed that their Super GT GT300 cars will compete in the fifth round of Asian Le Mans Series on September 22nd, 2013 at Fuji Speedway.

The hugely popular Super GT series is a grand touring race series organised by GTA and authorised directly by FIA. The GT300s will race alongside the Asian Le Mans Series cars, to create what is sure to be a spectacle of motorsports.

Mark Thomas, AEOCL Managing Director and promoter of the Asian Le Mans Series: "We are hugely excited about integrating the GT300 cars into our Asian Le Mans Series race at the Fuji Speedway. With the number of high-class GT cars that will now be on the track the fans are going to see something very special. To be combining with Super GT in this, our inaugural year, is a testament to our ambition, and what we are looking to achieve with the Asian Le Mans Series."
