The Menards 200 presented by Federated Car Care, the 67th ARCA Racing Series race at Toledo Speedway since 1963, is the 6th of 20 events on the 2010 ARCA Racing Series schedule.
NASCAR Stars Schrader, Crafton Highlight Stellar Line-Up. David Ragan to Sign Autographs
NASCAR veterans' Ken Schrader and Matt Crafton are among the entrants for the Menards 200. In 58 ARCA Racing Series starts since 1981, Schrader has 15 career wins including four victories at Toledo, but not since May of 2006. Schrader has 15 career ARCA victories and 15 pole awards. Before moving to the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series full-time in 2001, Crafton won the NASCAR Featherlite Southwest Series championship in 2000. He earned his first career Truck Series victory at Charlotte in May 2008 and has scored top-10 finishes in the series championship in six of the last seven years, including a career-best second in 2009. Over the course of his career, Crafton has started 227 Truck Series races with one win and 34 top-five and 112 top-10 finishes. His active streak of 227 consecutive starts is currently the longest in the series.
David Ragan is also coming to Toledo Speedway this Sunday, not to drive, but in support of the Roulo Brothers-prepared 17 car with 17-year-old Chris Buescher in the driver's seat.
Toledo is Kimmel Country
Nine-time Series champ Frank Kimmel stands to make his 30th consecutive start at Toledo since 1990 in the upcoming May 23rd Menards 200 presented by Federated Car Care. "Toledo is a racetrack that has been very good to me over the years," said Kimmel. "Having so much past success at a particular track definitely helps boost the team's confidence heading into a race weekend." In 29 career starts at Toledo, Kimmel has earned 21 top-five finishes, three Menards Pole awards and has led a whopping 1,113 laps in 16 races.
Menards 200 Race Weekend Kicks of Triple Header Race Action at Toledo The Menards 200 will headline a full weekend of racing action at the high-banked, half-mile Toledo oval set to kick off with the touring Buckeye 305 Sprint Cars highlighting the Friday night, May 21 racing card, part of the Valvoline Instant Oil Change Summer Racing Series. On Saturday, May 22, practice and Menards Pole Qualifying for the ARCA cars begins at 12 noon, plus a 50 lap feature event for the ARCA Truck Series. Then on Sunday, May 23, spectator gates will open at 10:30 AM, with an on-track autograph session featuring all the drivers in the Menards 200 starting field, plus Ragan, driver of the UPS Ford on the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series.
ARCA Fan Fest to Accompany Menards 200 Race Weekend Fri, Sat, Sun ARCA Fan Fest, a family friendly and interactive race festival, will be held all three days of the racing weekend special event. The ARCA Fan Fest will feature several interactive displays and activities, plus an ARCA driver autograph session Friday night at 6:30pm. The ARCA autograph session will coincide with the Friday night race card featuring the Buckeye 305 Sprints and ARCA-sanctioned Sportsman and Factory Stock divisions. The 6th Annual ARCA Fan Fest has been designed as a Family and Fan Friendly Motorsports Promotion allowing ARCA fans and their families to interact with ARCA Officials, Drivers, Teams, Crews, and sponsors at ARCA's hometown track.
Race Event Tickets On Sale Now!
Tickets for all three days are available at Toledo Speedway, and advance, discount tickets for the Sunday, May 23 Menards 200 are available at area Menards Locations, including the Alexis Road, Airport Highway and Oregon stores in greater Toledo, plus the Sandusky, Findlay and Defiance Menards locations. Fans can save $10 off the price of admission to the ARCA race by purchasing advance tickets at the participating Menards locations now thru May 18.
Driver Development Teams Stout for Toledo: Penske, Roush-Fenway, RCR on the way
The Menards 200 will have its share of Driver Development flavor with the addition of entries from Driver Development team such as Penske Racing (Cunningham Motorsports/driver Dakoda Armstrong), Roush-Fenway Racing (Roulo Brother Racing/driver Chris Buescher) and Richard Childress Racing (driver Tim George, Jr.) Buescher, 17, runs a limited ARCA schedule while Armstrong and George campaign fulltime on the ARCA tour. Both Armstrong and George are coming off their career-best finishes at Talladega Superspeedway where Armstrong won the race with George finishing third.
