LEARNING EXPERIENCE FOR TOWNLEY IN TOLEDO

Toledo, OH (5-19-08) SunTrust Rookie of the year contender, John Wes Townley, took home a less than satisfying 16th place finish in Sunday's Hantz Group 200 by Federated Car Care at Toledo Speedway.

After suffering a cut right-rear tire in the early laps, Townley was forced to play catch-up the remainder of the day. But with 18 caution periods accounting for 114 of the 200 laps, Townley was only able to advance to the 16th position before taking the checkered flag.

"This was one of the most challenging races for me thus far in the ARCA Series," Townley stated. "We have a great short track program that is as competitive as anyone else's, so this race was another opportunity to take what I learned and apply it to the next short track we attend. I know it's not the finish we hoped for, but I am proud that we were able to make the most of a bad day, and because we were able to stay out of trouble, we ended up with reasonable points day."

RAB Racing is back in the shop today preparing for the open ARCA RE/MAX Series test at Michigan International Speedway on Wednesday, May 28th.

"I look forward to testing at Michigan," John Wes Townley continued. "I am constantly impressed with the speed of the cars and the equipment I am given by RAB Racing. Everyone continues to do a great job week in and week out."

Although the ARCA RE/MAX Series will take a two week hiatus before moving on to Pocono Raceway for the Pocono 200, Townley will be making his debut in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series this weekend on Saturday, May 24 at Mansfield, Ohio. The 18-year-old will pilot the No. 09 Zaxby's Ford 150 fielded by Roush-Fenway Racing in the Ohio 250. The event will be televised live on SPEED at 1 PM ET.

The Pocono 200 is scheduled for Saturday, June 7th at 1:00 PM ET, with SDD Coverage airing on SPEED at 10:00 PM ET.
