With a double-duty Labor Day weekend on tap for the ARCA ReMax Series, Todd Bowsher and the GFS Marketplace Team are set to take on the short track at Toledo on Friday night and move on to the 1 mile dirt track at Duquoin, IL on Monday.
On Friday September 3 Toledo Speedway will host the ARCA cars for the Hantz Group 200 by Jasper Engines/Transmissions & Belle Tire with live coverage on the SPEED channel at 8pm. The Bowsher bunch is looking forward to getting back to the short track at Toledo which has produced 17th, 15th, 14th and 10th place finishing positions since 2001. "We've always had a strong short track program and in the past have run really well on the high-baked half mile tracks" said Bowsher, "The short tracks have been hard on us this season, we haven't really been able to show our true potential, but we're hoping to change that this weekend at Toledo; We've got the kinks worked out and looking for a good run; I personally love short track racing as a driver; It gets us back to the grass roots of where we all came from and that's pretty cool".
Monday September 3 will see the full bodied/cup style stock cars of the ARCA ReMax Series on the 1 mile dirt track at the Duquoin State Fairgrounds in Duquoin, IL for the Southern Illinois100. Bowsher says, "It's pretty exciting knowing that I'm part of the most adaptable racing series that there is, and we're heading to the dirt track just two days following the short track at Toledo". He added, "We were at the dirt track in Springfield, IL just a couple of weeks ago and were looking at a decent finish, but the planets weren't aligned at the right angle or something because that wasn't meant to be, but Duquoin is a different story and we're prepared to take on the dirt, mud, dust whatever Duquoin has in store. bring it on we're ready."
The short tracks and dirt tracks combined have in the past created good finishes for Todd Bowsher and the GFS Marketplace Team, expect this twice as nice Labor Day Weekend racing variety show to be no different.
