Coming off of an 8th place finish at Pocono, the Jack Bowsher and Associates Motorsports team were hoping to continue improving their speedway performance. Practice and qualifying at Michigan International Speedway took place on Thursday with Todd posting the 33rd fastest speed in practice and for qualifying.
When the green flag dropped for the start of the Hantz Group 200 on Friday, Todd was going through his normal routine to get up to race speed. As a car three cars ahead of Todd did not make it up to speed, the pile-up began. As a result of this, Todd ran into the back of Mark Gibson. This caused irreparable damage to the radiator of the GFS Marketplace Ford. Todd pulled the #21 behind the pit wall after completing one lap and finishing in the 39th position. "Unfortunately, we were out of the race after damaging our radiator at the start of the race. I take full blame for my part in knocking us out of the race. I was going through my regular routine for the green flag, going through the gears, and I just couldn't avoid the slower cars. If I would have done my job we wouldn't have been torn up. The GFS Marketplace Ford had been handling to my liking all weekend and we were looking forward to a good finish," said Todd. This finish dropped Todd to 9th in the year long points race.
Jack Bowsher & Associates Motorsports has added Casite Company as an associate product sponsor. The Casite Company distributes nearly two dozen products including premium maintenance liquids, quality fuel additives and treatments, and professional maintenance aerosols.
Frank Kimmel, Chad Blount, Ken Weaver, AJ Henriksen and Kyle Krisiloff were the top five finishers. The next race for the Safe Auto Insurance car is the Kansas Lottery $200 Grand at the Kansas Speedway July 2.
