GLOCK, Inc. Salute to Heroes at Talladega

For the second consecutive year, GLOCK, Inc. will host a "Salute to Heroes" event in conjunction with their Team GLOCK stock car racing program. It will take place at the Talladega ARCA RE/MAX 250 on Friday, October 3 at Talladega Superspeedway. Last year the event was held at Dover International Speedway while they were competing in the NASCAR Busch East Series.

Three individuals will be honored at the Talladega infield for their heroic efforts in the line of duty. Senior Airman Aaron D. Rath of the Illinois Air National Guard has received many military honors which include: The Air Force Achievement Medal, Meritorious Unit Award, Air Reserve Forces Meritorious Service Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Iraqi Campaign Medal with one bronze star cluster, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, Air Force Overseas Short Tour Ribbon, Air Force Expeditionary Service ribbon with gold border, Armed Forces Reserve Medal with one M device, Small Arms Expert Marksmanship ribbon and the Air Force Training Ribbon.

Along with this event, GLOCK, Inc. will donate 100K to the Special Operations Warrior Foundation and 50K to the Young Marines organization at the AUSA Annual Meeting in Washington DC on October 7. They will also contribute 50K to the COPS Charity (Concerns of Police Survivors) at the IACP (International Association of Chiefs of Police) Conference in November which will be held in San Diego.

GLOCK, Inc. is pleased to honor Jennifer, Aaron and Iaian at Talladega for their heroic endeavors and will continue to provide assistance to those who bravely defend the freedom that we possess. "Without question, the GLOCK, Inc. focus is and will remain on those that go in harms way to either support and defend or protect and serve. GLOCK, Inc. is committed to supporting the Law Enforcement and Military families by ensuring that care will be provided for those they leave behind if they fall," said Vice President of Operations and Federal Sales Josh Dorsey. The Talladega car will have a special "Salute to Heroes" paint scheme that will display the American flag and photos of Military and Law Enforcement personnel. This is the same car that Dexter ran at Daytona in February, which is the former DEI car that was driven to a second place finish in the 2007 Daytona 500 by Mark Martin!

This will be a huge race for 21 year old Dexter and Team GLOCK. The GLOCK, Inc. executive staff will be in attendance and would be thrilled to see the #37 Chevrolet cross the finish line in the number one position. "Team GLOCK has a really good superspeedway car. I am really excited it is going to be a big weekend! Talladega takes a lot of patience and concentration to keep the car tucked in line of the draft. It will also be a special race for us to salute heroes of our country. The #37 will have a difference look this week showing Team GLOCK's support of the fine men and women in the Military and Law Enforcement communities," said Dexter.

Team owner Jeff Spraker added, "Everyone at Spraker Racing is looking forward to being a part of GLOCK, Inc.'s Salute to Heroes in conjunction with the Talladega ARCA RE/MAX Series event. This will offer an outstanding opportunity for all of us at Team GLOCK Racing to meet the military & law enforcement personnel who will be recognized this week and to express our appreciation for all of their efforts."

The Spraker Racing Enterprises team is pumped about the big race and has been preparing themselves and the car for a top finish. "At the same time, we're planning on a great racing event at a venue where Dexter and I have a strong history of success. We have worked together at every race that Dexter has run here and he is definitely a driver who knows how to get the most out of a car in the "draft" on this superspeedway. This is also the first track where Dexter carried the GLOCK colors in 2007 and we're looking forward to bringing the Team GLOCK Chevy to the front in 2008," added Spraker.
