Mooresville, NC (September 24, 2004) -- Stuart Kirby has turned a lot of heads with the two starts he's made this season in the No. 75 Bob Schacht Motorsports Ford in the ARCA RE/MAX Series. Kirby started on the outside pole position at the Nashville Superspeedway and earned the pole at the Chicagoland Speedway. Unfortunately Kirby's days have been cut short in both instances very early in the event resulting in DNFs on the scoring sheets. Kirby hopes that the 'third time is the charm' as he will pilot a brand new car for Bob Schacht Motorsports in the Food World 300 at the Talladega Superspeedway. Kirby will also bring along a new sponsor for the final race of the 2004 ARCA RE/MAX Series season, subcrews.com (www.subcrews.com) has come on board for the event.
"I really hope this is the race where we can get the monkey off our back," said Kirby. "Bob (Schacht) and I have run really well together this season at Nashville and at Chicagoland, we practice up front and we've qualified on the front row at both races. But at Nashville, the water pump broke and forced us to the garage early and then at Chicagoland, the drive train broke on the first lap of the race. It just feels like we can't get any luck. But this will be a new race car at Talladega, maybe that will help us. The team has been working like crazy to get the car ready for Talladega and I'm hoping we have another good practice and qualifying, only this time I would like to top it off with a good finish."
Kirby will carry primary sponsorship for the Food World 300 from subcrews.com, a new website set to launch in the Charlotte, North Carolina area in mid-October. Subcrews.com is a way for home improvement customers to search for, select and hire a certified sub-contractor to work on their home needs. The car will also carry associate sponsorship from Camping World for the Talladega event.
"We're really excited to have subcrews.com on board for this race," said Kirby. "They are a brand new website that will be launching in October. I think the concept behind the site is a great idea and hopefully their success will enable them to work with us in motorsports for the 2005 season."
Kirby and Schacht have quite a history of ARCA success together, but a race win has remained elusive. Together Kirby and Schacht have competed in 11 ARCA RE/MAX Series races earning three poles, six top five finishes and have never started a race any lower than the ninth position. They have also competed in three NASCAR Cup races together at Lowe's Motor Speedway, Chicagoland Speedway and Kansas Speedway.
The Food World 300 will take the green flag from the Talladega Superspeedway on Saturday, October 2 at 2:00pm ET. The race will be carried live on Speed Channel.
