MADISON, Illinois (Wednesday, August 29, 2007) - - Carter-2-Motorsports announced today that longtime racecar driver Carl Long will pilot the team's No. 48 FreeFeds.org Dodge Charger this Friday night in the Gateway ARCA 150 at Gateway International Raceway.

Long is substituting for Carter-2-Motorsports normal driver Dustin Delaney who is forced to sit out Friday's event since ARCA's requirement for age to run a speedway event is 18. Delaney has shined in the ARCA series at the age of 17.

Delaney will return to the seat for Monday's Southern Illinois 100 at DuQuoin State Fairgrounds.

Long has been working with Carter-2-Motorsports for several weeks and car owner Roger Carter is excited about the opportunity to put Long in the ARCA RE/MAX Series.

"It's a shame that Dustin is unable to compete this weekend, but we excited about putting a veteran driver like Carl Long behind the wheel. He'll do an exceptional job for us on Friday night," Carter said.

Crew Chief Jonathan Sykes is equally excited about the opportunity to put a veteran driver behind the wheel.

"Dustin has done an outstanding job, he'll be back on Monday, but we're looking forward to giving the reins to Carl to see what he can do. He has a lot of experience in racing and I'm sure the knowledge he'll bring will not only help this team but Dustin too."

Long will make his 2007 ARCA RE/MAX Series debut on Friday night looking to give the rookie team their first top-10 finish of the season while also hoping to reel the team closer to the top-20 in car owner standings.

"I'm looking forward to Friday night," said Long, who holds 41 career NASCAR starts stretched across the sanctions three primary divisions. "It's a pleasure to step in and fill the role for the team in Dustin's absence. He is a great upcoming driver and I know he's the future of this team."

Long added, "I've haven't NASCAR at all this year, so it will be nice to climb into a "stock car" for some beating and banging on Friday night. I'll also be behind the wheel at Chicagoland Speedway next week, since Dustin can't compete their either. I'm just thankful for the opportunity and chance Roger Carter and the team is giving me this weekend. We're working on running some NASCAR Busch Series events later this year, so to run for him in the ARCA car just gives me some extra confidence."

The Free Feds Foundation (FreeFeds.org) will sponsor Long for Friday's 18th event on the 2007 schedule. FreeFeds.org's sole purpose is to gain public support for adding parole for non-violent, non repeat offenders to the federal prison system. They are of the belief that the federal justice system is in need of a total reform. The organization, however, is mainly interested in working toward adding a system of parole for non-violent offenders as part of that overall reform.

In addition to FreeFeds.org, Explore America, The Idaho Observer, RVrentToGo.com, 100fold.net, and Accelerating Developments International (ADI) will join the team's effort in the sixth RE/MAX Series event held at Gateway International Raceway.

"The Carter-2-Motorsports team has a lot of support from their sponsors," Long sounded. "It's a privilege to be associated with them and their goals. The race is live on television and I would like nothing more than to go out there and have a good run and attract some attention to our team."

The Gateway ARCA 150 (120 laps/150 miles) is the 18th of 23 races on the 2007 ARCA RE/MAX Series schedule. The sixth ARCA race held at Gateway International Raceway is a one day show. Practice begins Friday, August 31 with a two hour practice session planned from 10:30am-12:30pm. ARCA SIM Factory pole qualifying is set for later in the day at 4:30pm Local Time. The event will take the green flag shortly after 8:00pm Local Time. The race will be televised live on SPEED with additional race coverage online at arcaracing.com.

Carter-2-Motorsports (www.carter2motorsports.com) whose ARCA RE/MAX Series operation is based in Statesville, North Carolina will run Dodge Chargers in the ARCA RE/MAX Series and NASCAR Busch Series (NBS) in 2007. The team will run the No. 48 handed over from the legendary James Hylton who retired from full time ARCA competition following the 2006 season finale at the new Iowa Speedway. The organization also runs a second ARCA team part time this season utilizing the No. 67.
