ARCA Champ Allgaier Finishes 11th in NASCAR Nationwide Series at Phoenix

2008 ARCA RE/MAX Series Champion Justin Allgaier continued his transition into the NASCAR Nationwide Series with a strong, 11th-place finish in a Penske Dodge at Phoenix Int'l Raceway on Saturday. It was his career best NNS finish in only his third start for Penske Racing.

"I couldn't be happier for the Penske Truck Rental team," Allgaier said. "These guys on this crew have worked so hard to run well and this is a tribute to their hard work. It was a long day, we got around early unfortunately and these guys never gave up on me. I wish we could have brought home a top-10, but hey, we'll take 11th and our first good finish of the season."

Allgaier will be back in the No. 12 Penske Racing Dodge at Homestead-Miami Speedway Saturday, November 15, for the running of the Ford 300. The race will be broadcast on ESPN2 at 4 p.m. EST and will air on MRN radio at 4:30 p.m. EST. Other ARCA-affiliated drivers who competed at Phoenix this weekend:

Busy "off" season for ARCA RE/MAX Series Officials

The ARCA RE/MAX Series Marketing Department spent last week in Las Vegas, Nevada for the 2008 SEMA Show, the largest automotive specialty products trade event in the world. ARCA will have a booth at the Performance Racing Industry trade show in Orlando, Florida from December 11th-13th.

2008 ARCA RE/MAX Series Champion Justin Allgaier will sign autographs at the ARCA Booth at PRI on Thursday, December, 11th from 1-3 p.m. Allgaier will also have his No. 16 Hoosier Tire Midwest-AG Tech-Auto Xpress Chevrolet on display at the ARCA Booth all three days of the show.

Lofton, Umphries to Compete in 2008 Baja 1000

California native Justin Lofton is scheduled to race his Trophy Truck with his father in the November 20th-23rd Baja 1000. Lofton finished 13th in the 2008 ARCA RE/MAX Series Point Standings on the strength of one win, three top-5 and five top-10 finishes despite missing the first race of the year at Daytona Int'l Speedway.

Mr. Gasket Racing Services sponsor representative Shawn Umphries, who administrates the Mallory Ignition Program in the ARCA RE/MAX Series, also plans to compete in the 2008 Baja 1000.

Countdown to Daytona

The ARCA RE/MAX Series will test at Daytona Int'l Speedway in preparation for the 2009 ARCA 200 at Daytona from December 19th-21st. This year's test will consist of both drafting and single car runs and is designed to help race teams and drivers prepare for the 46th annual ARCA 200 at Daytona, which kicks off the 2009 ARCA RE/MAX Series. The ARCA RE/MAX Series has competed at Daytona since 1964 and the 2009 edition of the race rolls off live on SPEED on Saturday, February 7th as a preamble to the same-day NASCAR Sprint Cup Series Budweiser Shootout. ARCA RE/MAX Series Championship Awards Banquet December 6th

The 2008 ARCA RE/MAX Series Championship Awards Banquet is on Saturday evening, December 6th at the Northern Kentucky Convention Center in Covington, Kentucky. Honorees include 2008 ARCA RE/MAX Series Champion Justin Allgaier, car owner Mike Allgaier and the top-20 point finishers.
