Back to the Salem Short Track for Dexter Bean and Team GLOCK
Mooresville, NC (9.11.08) #37 Dexter Bean and Team GLOCK will make their second appearance in the 2008 ARCA RE/MAX Series at the Salem Speedway .555 mile paved oval short track on Saturday, September 13th in the Eddie Gilstrap Motors 200 by Advance Auto Parts.
Salem is one of Dexter's favorite tracks on the 2008 tour and the Westby, WI native is anxious to give the track a second shot to produce better results. "I'm really excited to return to Salem. It has always been a track where I am a contender. I also have had a pole there in the past. I can't wait!" This will be his sixth time racing at the track which has included a second place finish in 2007 and a pole position in September of 2006.
Although Dexter has had a great history with this track, he incurred some tough luck at the race in April 2008. After posting the sixth fastest time during SIM Factory Pole Qualifying, Dexter was involved in a multi-car pileup early in the race. He drove the Team GLOCK Chevy for the duration of the event, but finished in the 22nd position due to some rear end damage to the car.
Needless to say, Team GLOCK is anxious to finish in a top position at this weekend's race. The ultimate goal for the team is to bring home a win and they are still shooting for that. "We are heading to Salem with a great deal of optimism. Dexter qualified well here in the spring and had some bad luck during the race. Now we have the opportunity to put the Team GLOCK Chevy up front again and we plan to do just that," said Team owner Jeff Spraker.
