Passmore Hoping Salem Short Track is the Turnaround to Success in this 2004 Season

While the short tracks of the ARCA RE/MAX Series have not always been favorites for Christi Passmore, this season she is hoping that the bullring at Salem Speedway in Indiana can make a jump start to success in her 2004 racing season. While misfortune has plagued the Christi Passmore Racing team at Daytona and Nashville where she earned 27th and 24th place finishes respectfully, Passmore knows the success that her and her team are capable of this season and Salem may just be the place to get 'back on track'.

"Our entire team is really hoping that this weekend is the turnaround we need in order to turn our 2004 season around," said Passmore. "The race cars have been fast and we have run really well at both Daytona and Nashville, but we have just had bad luck strike at both tracks causing the finishes to not be where they should. I know we have all the right tools in place to run up front and contend each week, we just need to have a little bit of racing luck on our side."

Passmore has competed at the .5-mile speedway three times earning three top ten starting positions and one top ten finish. Passmore finished ninth in this event in 2003 after starting in the ninth position.

"I have not always viewed the short tracks as my favorites on the circuit," said Passmore. "But Salem is probably the one short track that I do look forward to during the season. I have done pretty well getting around this track and we have logged some solid top five and top ten starting positions along with finishing ninth here in the spring race last season. The key at Salem seems to be to stay out of someone else's problem. Everything at this race track happens fast and with no warning so keeping all the fenders intact will be the key to our success this weekend."

The Kentuckiana Ford Dealers 200 will take the green flag on Sunday, April 25 at 1:15 pm ET.
