RACEWAY STORES TO INTRODUCE SPEEDWEEKS 2000 PROMOTION WITH SHOP-VAC® CORPORATION AND PENNSYLVANIA DRIVER SKIP SMITH

SALISBURY, N.C. (October 12, 1999) -- In addition to sponsoring Smith Brothers Motorsports for the Winn-Dixie 300 ARCA Series event at Talladega (Ala.) Superspeedway on October 16th, Raceway Stores and Shop-Vac® Corporation plan to introduce a Speedweeks 2000 promotion, kicking off Friday, October 22, 1999.

The promotion, which will run through mid-January 2000, is centered around retired Pennsylvania State Police Officer, Skip Smith, and his plans to enter three races at Daytona International Speedway during February 2000, the ARCA Series and NASCAR Busch Series events, along with an attempt to qualify for the prestigious Daytona 500 of the NASCAR Winston Cup Series.

Race fans will have the chance to share in the Pennsylvania driver's experience, through a grand-prize that includes designation as 'Honorary Crew Members' of Smith Brothers Motorsports, pit and garage passes for the Busch and Winston Cup Series events, Shop-Vac® products and Raceway Stores merchandise. The lucky grand-prize winners will be provided V.I.P. treatment by driver Skip Smith and Smith Brothers Motorsports during their time at Daytona.

Raceway Stores President, Matthew Sears explains the promotion will offer race fans a chance to be right in the middle of the action.

"Our promotion with Smith Brothers and Shop-Vac offers a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to be right in the middle of the action at Daytona in 2000," said Sears. "That includes seeing all the behind the scenes, inner workings of a race team in their preparation, and it will be a fun and memorable experience for the fans."
